Pelosi DEMANDS Russia Investigation Independent of Mueller’s

Nothing like a little panic to start your day. Nancy Pelosi is happy to oblige. She’s now called for an independent investigation into Trump’s campaign collusion dealing with Russia. She did that immediately after Special Counsel Robert Mueller unsealed indictments for campaign operatives Paul Manafort and Rick Gates. Both of them have now turned themselves into the authorities and have checked out on $10 million and $5 million in bail respectively. Guess Mueller’s investigation is not producing the results Pelosi had hoped for. Democrats are going to get nailed in it too.

In a stunning turn of events yesterday, Tony Podesta resigned from the Podesta Group. He handed control over to longtime firm CEO Kimberley Fritts. Fritts and a senior group of the Podesta team will be launching a new firm in the next one or two days. It’s all connected to Russia too. It’s evidently been in the works for several months. Reminds me a lot of ACORN. These guys knew this was coming and they were preparing for it. And similarly, Pelosi knew as well. She’s desperate to get the spotlight back on Trump and off Podesta, as well has Hillary’s Russian dossier and Uranium One scandals.

It’s telling that Pelosi is fixated on the non-existent collusion between Trump and Russia, but not so much on Clinton. She had this to say on it:

Even with an accelerating Special Counsel investigation inside the Justice Department, and investigations inside the Republican Congress, we still need an outside, fully independent investigation to expose Russia’s meddling in our election and the involvement of Trump officials. Defending the integrity of our democracy demands that Congress look forward to counter Russian aggression and prevent future meddling with our elections.

It’s obvious that Pelosi and the DNC want an investigator that they can control. Someone who is bought and paid for. Classic.

Trump’s former campaign manager, Manafort, and his sidekick Gates, surrendered willingly in response to charges from Mueller’s investigation into accusations that the campaign colluded with Russia to defeat Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. They both are pleading not guilty, which is laughable. There is a solid case against these guys and they will be used as leverage.

Manafort is well known in DC and has been for decades. Politicians on both sides of the political aisle have dealt with him as a lobbyist since the mid-70’s. His business tactics are dirty to say the least. He had a lobbyist firm with Roger Stone decades ago as well. Trump has known him for many years. But Manafort can be bought and was by the Russians and the Podesta Group. He then joined Trump’s campaign as a plant. Someone really should look into that as well.

Word on the street is that Manafort is going to flip on Podesta, instead of Trump. But who knows? This is just the beginning of legal wrangling on all this and many more will be charged before Mueller is through. According to Tucker Carlson, this is a DC lobbyist crackdown now. I welcome that. It’s long overdue. But we should all watch Mueller, because he should be investigating Clinton too and he has a severe conflict of interest there. Perhaps a second special counsel on that case is warranted.
