Ex-Subway spokesman Jared Fogle got a brutal dose of prison whoopin’ last year when 61-year-old Steve Nigg beat him to a pulp. Prisoners don’t like pedophiles, in case you’ve been living under a rock.
But now, Nigg has come forward to say why such a nasty, life-threatening beating was doled out to Jared: Nigg wrote a letter, obtained by TMZ, saying Jared was disgustingly revered as an almighty figure among pedophiles in prison.
In fact, his fellow pedophiles treated him as some sort of God..
“Jared is their hero,” the assailant Steve Nigg told the Hollywood gossip site TMZ. “You would not believe how arrogant Jared was. He hired bodyguards and the other child molesters looked at him as if he was a god.”
Prison officials talked to Nigg who made it clear … he would brutalize Fogle again if given the opportunity, because of his seething hatred toward child molesters. Prison officials decided the only way to ensure Fogle’s safety was to move Nigg to an Oklahoma facility, 700 miles from the Colorado facility the former Subway spokesman calls home.
According to members of Fogle’s family, he’s “lucky to be alive,” as the brutal beatdown was meant to send a message to the convicted child molester.
For their part, Niggs’ family says he doesn’t take kindly to sex offenders.
Biggs’ brother told the media:
“He’s sending a message (to pedophiles) is what he’s doing. A guy walks in with all this money and celebrity and instead of flying under the radar, he’s going into the yard, walking around with big guys, saying no one can mess with me, flashing his money around.”
According to Newsiosity, one media source even reported that Niggs had told his brother, “I’m doing it for the families. I couldn’t help it.”
Apparently, a brief lapse in security gave Niggs all the opportunity he needed to attack Fogle.
Fogle’s doing 15 years for child porn and crossing state lines to pay for sex with minors.
