The LA Times is reporting that anonymous sources say Judge Napolitano has been suspended from Fox News for an indefinite period of time over claims he made surrounding President Donald Trump’s accusations that Barack Obama wiretapped him during the election…
People familiar with the situation who could speak only on the condition of anonymity said Napolitano is not expected to be on Fox News Channel any time in the near future. Napolitano was not available for comment.
After Trump first tweeted that Obama had him wiretapped, Napolitano claimed that three “intelligence sources” had told Fox News that Obama had bypassed using any U.S. security agencies by going to British intelligence agencies, so there would be no fingerprints.
However, the British government categorically denied these claims.
According to TheBlaze, when both Trump and White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer began to quote Napolitano’s completely unsourced claims, Fox News host Shepherd Smith was forced to weigh in on the controversy and assure audiences that Fox News could not confirm Napolitano’s allegations, due to having no evidence to support them.
Despite all this, Napolitano is standing by his comments, saying he “reported what the sources told me, reported it accurately and I do believe the substance of what they told me.”
