President Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz were bitter rivals during the GOP primaries last year, so it came as a surprise to many when Trump announced that he will be dining with Ted and Heidi Cruz at the White House on Wednesday night.

The White House has not yet revealed the purpose of this dinner, only confirming that the Trumps will be hosting the Cruzes.

Cruz infamously refused to endorse Trump at the Republican National Convention after he himself had dropped out of the race, but the Senator did praise the president’s recent speech to a joint session of Congress, calling it a “positive, unifying vision for the country.”

Trump has already hosted some of his other opponents at the White House, including Marco Rubio, John Kasich and Chris Christie.
