Lindsay Lohan seems to get crazier and crazier as time goes on. She has recently taken to wearing a head scarf and studying the Islamic religion. Now, she is claiming to have been “racially profiled” at the airport. Oh, brother…
“When I was flying to New York recently, I was wearing a headscarf, and I got stopped,” Lohan said during an interview on Good Morning Britain. “She opened my passport and saw Lindsay Lohan and started immediately apologizing, but then said, ‘Please, take off your headscarf.'”
“And I did. I mean, it’s okay,” continued the actress. “What scared me was, is that moment, how would another woman, who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel? I was really interesting to me. I mean, I was kind of in shock.”
WATCH Lohan recount the airport troubles that “freaked her out a little bit” below.
Lohan was leaving Turkey en route to the United States when she was stopped for her headscarf. “I was a little scared going to America,” she said.
When asked to address rumors sparked by photos of Lohan carrying a copy of the Koran, she said that studying the Islamic doctrine was “something she found solace in.” She added that while she reads the Koran regularly, “nothing has been confirmed yet” about her conversion to Islam.
What Lindsay Lohan does not seem to understand is that the security measures at airports around the world are in place so that she doesn’t have to feel scared when traveling. Obviously, it is necessary for airport officials to be able to properly identify individuals getting on planes, whether they are going to a predominately Muslim country or a Christian country.
If removing one’s headscarf is required to confirm that they are, indeed, the person on their passport, then that is a small price to pay for the security of all travelers.
