Counterterrorism officers are already in place leading up to the New Year’s Eve celebrations happening this weekend. Police say they are ready to protect huge crowds that are expected to gather in New York City.
This year, following a slew of terrorist attacks around the world, officers will be tasked with the additional job of keeping Americans safe from truck attacks like the ones which unfolded in Berlin and Nice.
