Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson repeatedly beat a man in the face in front of High School kids after the man shoved a pie in his face, resulting in the arrest of the pie thrower!
You heard that right! The Mayor walked free from assault charges, and the man was charged with felony assault of a public official. He’s being held on $100,000 bail.
Now I have no issue with the man reaping some consequences for his actions, but Mayor Johnson should be charged as well. His assault was much more serious!
Johnson had given a speech at the Seeds of HOPE dinner at Sacramento Charter High School before the man came up, pulled the pie from a bag, grabbed Johnson and shoved it into his face, according to the mayor’s Chief of Staff Crystal.
A spokesman with the Sacramento Police Department confirmed that there was “some sort of physical altercation” between the suspect and the mayor, which occurred after Johnson was “assaulted” with the pie at around 6:45 p.m. He did not know whether the pie hit the mayor’s face or head.
According to the East Bay Express, Johnson then tackled Thompson. He punched him in the face landing multiple punches on the man.
One witness described it as a “bloody pulp.” Other witnesses say that the pie-thrower was hit multiple times in the face and will definitely need stitches, and that there was visible blood.
The altercation took place in front of a few dozen high-school students. Mayor Johnson should be ashamed of himself. He set a horrific example of how to react. He condoned violence to those kids and should resign for that alone!
We seem to have a pattern of elected officials being above the law! This is unconscionable! ANYONE would have been immediately arrested for such an act.
Sacramento voters…. It is up to you!
