Heller Statement on National Unemployment Figures
(Washington DC) – U.S Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) issued the following statement regarding the national unemployment figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics today:
“News that more Americans are employed is welcome, but it doesn’t change the fact that Nevada is still severely hurting. It’s been nearly three years since President Obama spent $1 trillion of taxpayers’ dollars on stimulus and Nevada is still facing an unacceptably high rate of 13 percent unemployment. Even more alarming is that almost one-quarter of Nevadans are out of a job, underemployed, or have given up looking for employment altogether. Washington needs to stop the political bickering and focus on reforming the tax code, reducing government spending, and rolling back burdensome regulations so that businesses can grow and hire Americans looking for work,” said Senator Dean Heller.
